Live on the floor: The benefits of a design-led hosted viewing
What better way to experience your future office space, than to be immersed in it? To shape your space in real time and change finishes to suit you? As Design Host, it’s my job to engage your inner designer (we all have one!) and make the process of moving into pre-fitted office space an enjoyable and personalised experience.
Moving offices can be a daunting process. We spend a significant portion of our waking hours at work so the pressure is on to find space that supports your employee needs, and stimulates productivity and high business performance.
I am here to help you imagine your future office space – the building’s personal interior designer if you like. It’s my responsibility to understand your company, your requirements and the way that you operate as a business, and talk you through the design details that make a difference. Things like floor finishes, furniture, lighting and accessories each have the power to impact how your team responds to the environment.
The design narrative – it’s all in the details
The idea of starting from nothing can feel scary. Walking out onto an empty floor plate can be uninspiring and overwhelming. There is so much to do, so much choice and so many decisions to be made. Equally, poorly considered pre-fitted space can feel generic and unsuitable as you have little control of the environment without further investment.
We work in a way that allows you to experience a well-designed built environment and then identify the things you can edit to make it perfect for you. Editable elements have three pre-selected options for you to choose from – each can make either a subtle tweak or dramatic impact to the final design outcome.

I know each TX space inside and out having worked on the design process of the fitted floor and the alternative schemes for other available floors. I understand how each element relates to the area and the building and can advise on how you adapt the existing solutions to suit your needs. I aid the viewing process and add another level of assistance where design is at the forefront.
Having been an interior designer for the past 5 years, I believe very strongly in the power of the built environment and clever, thought-through design. If something doesn’t suit your brand, doesn’t feel right, doesn’t enable your people to work at their best, I can talk to you about how we can adapt it, keeping everything in line with the scheme. My understanding of the materiality and furniture can aid quicker, on-site, decision making meaning your office can be delivered to you in the shortest possible time.
Conversations that matter - people
My first question will always be about your people. Really, that is what is at the heart of every company. If I understand how you function as a business and what gets your people up in the morning, even define the personality of both individuals and team, I can help you design a space that positively influences their behaviour and performance at work.
The way we work and use the office space has changed. There is a far greater need for more collaborative function and meeting settings, and with so much of 2020 spent at home, there could be a level of anxiety associated with returning to the office. The importance of making it feel like familiar territory - a home away from home - has never been more important.
Safety first
With covid anxieties and risks in mind, we keep your safety at the forefront of the viewing process. We stick to robust daily cleaning procedures, have a track and trace check-in on arrival, and provide hand sanitiser and masks to adapt to the world we live in today.
Moving forward
No client is the same. Each of you will have your own desires for (and unique concerns about) your future workplace, and I’m excited to talk them through with you. By addressing those from the get-go, you can be sure of what you are getting at the very first visit.
It’s been an uncertain year, and what better way to move forward than to create your dream space?
It’s time to get excited about the office again.
